Imphal, April 18 2018:
The JAC formed against the decision to shift Imphal East District Hospital from Sagolmang, has threatened to close all the Government offices in Khundrakpam A/C if the State Government fails to revoke its decision to shift the hospital within three days.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the JAC's co-convenor Thokchom Sanjoy urged the State Government to either revoke the decision to shift the District Hospital from Sagolmang or to provide an opportunity for a dialogue between the JAC and the Chief Minister and the Health and Family Welfare Minister.
He claimed that apart from taking up various democratic protests against the decision to shift the hospital from Sagolmang, the JAC as well as the people have repeatedly appealed to the authority concerned to give a chance to meet the CM or the Health Minister but to no avail.
The JAC is even preparing for a dialogue with the authority through the MLA of Khundrakpam A/C, he said and condemned the negligent attitude of the State Government towards the plight of the people.
He stated that due to the inaction of the State Government, the JAC has decided to close down all the Government offices in the Constituency.
On the other hand, Sanjoy also condemned the act of firing tear gas shells to disperse a womenfolks rally which was organised, on Monday evening against the decision to shift the hospital.
