Imphal, August 07 2016 :
The All Manipur Bachelor of Fishery Association has opposed the State Cabinet's decision to recruit staff against the vacant posts in the Fishery Department.
Speaking to media persons the association secretary Thokchom Ponil said inviting applications from candidates who have completed 4 years course in B.Sc Fishery Science and candidates who just did ten months short term course in Fishery is unacceptable.
Accepting applications from both B.Sc Fishery graduate and those who have merely completed a ten-months course on fishery renders the four-year long study of fishery completely useless, Ponil stated while strongly condemning the directive of the State Cabinet.
The association has twice served memorandums to the Chief Minister and the department concerned on the matter, but no positive step has been taken till date, Ponil lamented.
He further has urged the State Government to modify the RR of the recruitment notification and recruit the necessary staff of Fishery Department from amongst the candidates who completed B.Sc Fishery Science as State nominees.
