Protest staged over arrest of Auto Driver

Hundreds of diesel Auto Drivers along with local meira paibi today staged protest in front of Irilbung Police station demanding released of an Auto Driver who has been reportedly arrested by troops of 43 Assam Rifles and later handed over to Irilbung Police claiming him to be a member of PULF.
According to the protestors, Auto Driver MD Anish Khan (23) s/o MD Ibocha of Keiroa Makting Makha Leikai was picked up by three personnel of Assam Rifles who came in civil dress from Polo Ground Auto Parking area at around 11 am on Tuesday.
A minor confrontation occurred between the members of the Auto driver Union with the civil dressed non-Manipuri AR personnel.

However, Anish Khan along with one of his Uncles identified as Samir Uddin, who also happened to be present at the spot, was picked up by the AR troop.
Samir Udin was later released at Koirengei.
But MD Anish Khan was handed over to Irilbung Police station describing him as a member of proscribed PULF.
Police report said no arms or any documents had been handed over by the AR troop.
Angry over the arrest of their fellow colleague, members of the Auto Driver Union Keirao Makting along with the locals of Anish Khan thronged the Irilbung Police station and staged protest in front of the police station demanding unconditional release of him.
