Ibobi appeals for Cong govt in state for peace

Imphal, April 20 2011:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today appealed to the people of the state for a government of Congress alone in the state for a peaceful Manipur.
He was attending a training programme of the flagship programmes of Congress held at Khuman Mini Stadium, Mayang Imphal.
Speaking in the occasion, Ibobi said that there is only one congress candidate in the four assembly constituencies of Imphal West II.
He urged the people of the four constituencies to elect only congress candidates from all four constituencies for successful implementation of development works.
He said that the three constituencies which have opposition MLAs are lagging behind in development from the remaining one.
Admitting his disinterest in appeals and proposals of opposition MLAs, Ibobi said that he could not pay much attention to any developmental proposals of opposition MLAs.
Since the former JN hospitals have been upgraded to JNIMS, the government has plan to construct two 100 bedded district hospitals one each in Imphal East and Imphal West.
Mayang Imphal has been chosen for the construction of the hospitals, he said.
He also said that the government is planning to broaden the Hiyangthang bridge, upgrade Mayang Imphal PS and kept under a SDPO.
A water sport complex will also be constructed at Komlakhong very soon, he added.
The training programme was organised as part of the election campaign of the upcoming general election which is likely to be held in February next year, he said.
In his address, MPCC president Gaikhangam said that Congress party is the oldest party in the country and the party does not belief in any sort of discrimination.
People of the state are supporting the party only after knowing the sincerity of the party towards development of the state.
He also urged not to pay any heed to cheap propagandas of other parties against congress.
MLA, Mayang Imphal AC Dr Kh Ratan who is also the chairman of MANITRON, MLA Govindas Konthoujam, MPCC general secretary Tilotama and many other leaders of the party attended the programme as presidium members.
