Imphal, December 22 2011:
Rejecting out rightly the claim of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the Assembly today that he (Sapamcha Jadumani) had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Gauhati High Court over the issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, President of Federation of Regional Indigenous Society (FRIENDS) Sapamcha Jadumani has denounced Chief Minister Ibobi as a big liar and demanded an explanation in this regard by tomorrow.
Talking to media persons at the office of FRIENDS at Keishampat here this evening, Jadumani explained that he had never filed any PIL on ILP in the Gauhati High Court.
However, there is an instance of filing of a PIL on Protected Area Permit in December, 2008.This PIL has no connection with ILP.
Jadumani informed that when MLA O Joy took up the issue of ILP for discussion in the Assembly today, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh contended that discussion on the issue would be sub-judice since Sapamcha Jadumani has filed a PIL in the Gauhati High Court, thus putting an abrupt end to the discussion.
Such conduct of misleading the House is unbecoming of a Chief Minister, Jadumani said, and demanded resignation of Chief Minister O Ibobi on moral ground.
He also demanded the Chief Minister to come out with an explanation in this regard positively by tomorrow.
