Imphal, December 22 2011:
Negating the Chief Minister's statement given on the floor of the State Assembly that a case was pending in High Court regarding enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur, FREINDS has demanded the Chief Minister to make a clarification by tomorrow (December 23) .
Speaking to media persons this evening, FREINDS president Sapamcha Jadumani alleged that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi assertion that a PIL was pending in High Court was baseless.
The Chief Minister reportedly made the assertion in response to MLA O Joy's private member resolution about implementation of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur.
The case filed at the High Court was about PAP System.
It was filed on December 11, 2008.Jadumani alleged that the Chief Minister was misleading the House by giving a false statement.
For misleading the House, the Speaker should take up necessary action against the Chief Minister.
For concealing the truth, Ibobi should resign from the post of Chief Minister, he demanded.
The State Assembly is not a place where one can make irresponsible statements without knowing the truth and facts.
The Chief Minister should issue a clarification about his misleading statement by tomorrow, Jadumani said.
He also lauded MLAs RK Anand, N Mangi, Dr Ratan and Speaker I Hemochandra for their contribution in debating the issue.
