NIT team reaches Agra

The initiative of IGAR (South), National Integration Tour, organised by 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles for students of Thoubal district has been exploring rich cultural heritage in New Delhi and Agra.
On October 11, 24 students of Thoubal district who are part of the tour met Lt Gen Rajan Ravindran, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Delhi area at his residence.
During the interaction with students, the General Officer expressed his keenness to know about the aspirations of the students, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
He motivated the students to join the Indian Defence Forces and serve their motherland.
The students also apprised him about the local traditions and history of Manipur.
At the end of the interaction, the General presented a track suit as a souvenir to each student and the tour leader presented him a replica of 'Kangla Fort Gate' as a token of appreciation, which was highly appreciated by the GOC.
The tour in its onward journey moved to Agra city on Oct 12, wherein the students had an ecstatic experience while visiting Fatehpur Sikhri, Agra Fort and Taj Mahal on Oct 13 .
While visiting the 8th wonder of the world, the students displayed enthusiasm in knowing more about the Moghul architecture and the glorious history of Agra.
On their way back, the students even had an opportunity to interact with many foreign tourists of various countries, added the press release.
At Agra, the students were also fortunate to visit an Indian Army Parachute Regiment where they witnessed the rigorous training regime of troops of Special Forces and were inspired while interacting with tough 'Maroon Berets' .
