Imphal, October 14 2015:
The BJP, Nungba Kendra has decried that benefits under different welfare schemes launched by the Centre could not reach the poor and needy people of Nungba area due to partisanship and partiality in implementing the schemes.
In a statement, the BJP, Nungba Kendra said that favouritism on party line is deeply entrenched in Nungba Assembly Constituency and all schemes are implemented to the advantage of Congress party workers.
Under the existing system, all the welfare schemes meant for the poor people could not reach the targeted beneficiaries as BPL families had no audacity to register their complaint.
It said that although the National Food Security scheme has been extended to the poor, many of the targeted people will not be able to get the benefits.
In respect of Nungba AC, the names of many potential beneficiaries under NFS are missing in the list while fictitious names are inserted in the lists, it pointed out.
As such, the BJP demanded fresh preparation of the beneficiary lists.
It further said that the Swachh Bharat Programme is not properly implemented in Nungba AC.
It also expressed fear and apprehension that benefits under recently launched Mudra scheme will not reach the area as their is no financial institution in Nungba AC where the benefits can be availed.
The BJP also lambasted the local MLA, who is also the Dy CM for the pitiable state of affairs in Nungba AC.
