NEDFi to monitor projects

The Government of Manipur and the North Eastern Development Financial Corporation (NEDFi) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 16 under which NEDFi would take the task of monitoring specific projects taken up by the State.
As per the MoU, NEDFi would be monitoring nine projects taken up in the State under Special Plan Assistance and Non-lapsable Central Pool of Resources as third party.
The State Government's Special Secretary (Planning) has issued an order in this regard yesterday.
The order instructed heads of departments to supply necessary information and also to cooperate with NEDFi officials as and when they visit project sites for monitoring.
The projects specified for monitoring by NEDFi include internal road of Lamphelpat which was developed at the cost of Rs 1.80 crore under SPA, Lamlong bridge constructed under NLCPR at the cost of Rs 4.54 crores, infrastructure of Tamenglong Hr Sec School developed with Rs 3 crores under SPA and installation of 2x5 MVA, 55 KV power sub-station at Moreh at the cost of Rs 4.60 crores under NLCPR.
Keibung Yengkhom bridge built over Thoubal river constructed at the cost of Rs 4.20 crores under SPA, Leishangkhong PHC, bore cast and retaining wall built at Thoudam Mamang, bore cast and retaining wall built at Thoubal Wangma Taba and VDF barracks built at Chini Ingkhol, Ngai-khongsiphai, Mantha hills, Toubul, Keirenphabi and Thanga Lawai at the cost of Rs 6.80 crores under SPA are also included among the projects identified for monitoring by NEDFi.
The other works identified for monitoring are improvement of Maram-Purul road which was executed at the cost of Rs 2.80 crores under SPA, Chandrakhong-Kasom Khullen road done at the cost of Rs 4.80 crores under SPA, Mahadev-Sana Keithel road and augmentation of water supply scheme done at Churachandpur Zone I at the cost of Rs 14.17 crores under NLCPR.
