Uncountable number of loose rocks are ready to break away from the hill sides along NH 37 road.
The government is little concerned about this and will react only when tragic incidents occur in the near future.
Huge loose rocks are likely to come loose at the same place at Kipgen Sinam in Senapati district where rocks and debris rained down on a Road Opening Party (RoP) vehicle on July, 6, 2011 and killed six personnel of IRB and MR and left seven others critically injured.
Yesterday also rocks fell loose at Kipgen Sinam around 4 pm though it claimed no casualities.
Tongothang Kuki (63), a villager of Kipgen Sinam village, an eye witness of yesterday's incident told Hueiyen Lanpao that at K Sinam area there are many large loose rocks which could come apart from the hill side and kill many people who travel on NH 37.He also said that yesterday's incident could have killed some people if the debris fell on a vehicle passing through the road, but luckily at the time of the incident there were a few vehicles plying on the road.
If the concerned authority does not take preventive measures in time this type of incident will occur frequently which could be very dangerous for many people, he added.
