The Editors' Forum, Manipur celebrated its first foundation day today with a simple but impressive function at Hotel Imphal.
The Editors' Forum was formed on September 20, 2003 by a group of editors with the primary objective of protecting the editorial rights of the editors working in the State dailies.
Chief Minister O Ibobi who returned from Delhi yesterday graced the function as chief guest while Power and Information Minister Gaikhangam was the guest of honour.
Director of DIPR, Aleng Shimray also turned up as a guest of honour.
President of the Editors' Forum and editor of Huieyen Lanpao Bharat Bhushan presided.
The function started off with the lighting of the ceremonial candle and general secretary of the Forum, Kh Loyalakpa gave a brief account of how the Forum was formed and the contribution it has made in its first year of existence.
Speaking at the occasion, Gaikhangam noted that though the Editors' Forum came into being only a year back, its impact has been felt all over.
The Information Minister also shared his thoughts and asked the editors to introspect and study whether they have been able to do justice to their job faithfully without any outside influence.
