Chandel Medical Employees' Association has complained against lack of adequate doctors and other medical staff in District Hospital, Chandel.
The 50-bedded hospital presently being run with only five doctors and three ANMs and the only pharmacist has been transferred to Sajik Tampak with no sign of filling up he vacant post, according to information provided by Association president JS Kohring.
At present, the hospital required at least one Physician, one Paediatrician, one Surgeon, one ENT specialist, one Ortho specialist, five MOs, two Pharmacists, three ANMs and three staff nurses, Kohring said, adding that lack of adequate medical staff in the hospital has created lot of inconveniences to the people.
He also drew the immediate attention of the authorities concerned toward the problem of lack of adequate medi-care facilities in the district and urged the authorities for making arrangement for appointing the required medical personnel in the hospital.
MSRAM resolves: Medical and Sales Representatives Association of Manipur has resolved to discontinue to work at Churachandpur for the time being with effect from September 22 in view of the prevailing unfavorable environment.
Informing this a MSRAM statement said that all the medical and sales representatives working in the entire North East region are not in a position to work at Churachandpur under the prevailing environment.
It also informed that the medical and sale representatives would go for a mass casual leave on September 22.
