Kakching, December 23 2018:
Kakching District VDF Welfare Association denounced the indifferent and callous attitude of the concerned authority including the MLAs of Kakching District for their failure to pay out the honorarium of VDF personnel which they have been agitating since 2013 with the demand to constitute appropriate pay structure for the VDF personnel, said a statement issued by the association.
A meeting was convened today for the members of Kakching District VDF Welfare Association and jointly condemned the non-release of their salaries for the last three months, mentioned the statement and added that the VDF personnel are also discharging their duties days and nights at the same level as that of Manipur police, MR, IRB etc.
Stating that they are facing difficulties to meet their ends, the association appealed the authority concerned to finalise and pay out their honorarium at the earliest, it added.
The statement further lamented the action of the State Govt which instead of addressing the issues of VDF personnel (10,050 in total), are recruiting thousands of State force and appealed the Govt to stop enlistment of new police personnel further before their problems are solved.
The association also criticised the inaction of the MLA and Minister of Kakching district which have not even bothered to table their demands in the State Assembly session and added that they have decided to boycott such MLA and Minister, mentioned the statement.
The statement also mentioned that the Kakching District VDF Welfare Association will extend full support to any steps taken up by All Manipur VDF Welfare Association.
