State logs 911 new cases, highest in last 42 days
14 succumb; home isolation rate high amid delta scare; mask in home setting advised

The state on Sunday recorded 911 new positive cases of Covid-19, the highest single day new cases in the last 42 days while 14 more lives were lost due to the viral infection.
The highest ever single day new case of 1032 was recorded on May 30.On the other hand, IDSP Manipur has advised use of face masks even in home setting to minimise the risk of infection as Delta variant of Coronavirus has become the dominant strain in the state.
This daily reported 206 confirmed cases of Delta variant in the state but the IDSP statement said that 205 samples have been confirmed so far.
However, no detailed information on the Delta variant cases is released to the media.
Amid the scare of Delta variant and in spite of the government's stand on reducing number of home isolation cases, the number of patients in home isolation still remains high as 2761 out of 7235 active cases are recuperating at homes, which comprises over 38 per cent of the total active cases, while 2512 (34.7 per cent) active cases are in CHICs.

As of Saturday night, 861 patients (11.9 per cent) were admitted to different hospitals with 326 on oxygen support and 43 are on ventilator/NIV support.
A total of 1101 patients (15.22 per cent of active cases) are admitted to different CCCs and 89 of them are on oxygen support.
The grand total of admitted patients is 1962 and number of beds available is 2236.According to official reports, the 911 new cases included 897 people (464 males & 433 females) from among the general population and 14 from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (10), JNIMS (86), District Hospitals (598) and other testing centres (217).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (207), Imphal West (269), Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (140), Kakching (63), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (83), Chandel (10), Senapati (6), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (2), Pherzawl (3) and Kangpokpi (14) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 Covid-19 deaths (9 males & 5 females) in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (1), Tengnoupal (2) and Kangpokpi (1).Four patients died at JNIMS, three at MSF Little Flower School, two each at Shija Hospitals and Raj Medicity, and one each at RIMS, DH Thoubal and DH Churachandpur.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1272.Four of the victims were in the age of below 60 years.
Six patients died within 24 hours of reaching hospitals and two within 48 hours.
Three patients did not have any co-morbid conditions.
In the last 24 hours, 570 persons were discharged from home isolation (228), RIMS (18), JNIMS (7), CCCs (110) and CHICs (207).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 77,731 (general population - 73,814 and CAPF personnel - 3,917).Number of recovered cases is 69,224 (general population - 65,407 and CAPF personnel -3,817) and number of active cases is 7,235 (general population - 7,140 and CAPF personnel - 95) .
The recovery rate is 89.05 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1928 D-type and 424 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 364D and 94B medical oxygen cylinders while stock distributions in the last 24 hours included Bishnupur (71D,2B), Chandel (30D,5B), Churachandpur (31D,0B) Senapati (40D,0B), Thoubal (57D,30B), Ukhrul (19D,18B), Tamenglong (18D,0B), Jiribam (48D,12B), Moreh (20D,7B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kakching (16D,17B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (358D,109B).Only 6988 people were vaccinated on Saturday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 7,77,202 which include 94,268 who have received both shots of Covid vaccine.
Meanwhile, 44 new positive cases of Covid-19 were detected out of 307 samples tested in Kakching district from Saturday 2 pm to Sunday 2 pm .
One case was detected at Ema Hospital, six at Sun Hospital, four at Jivan Hospital and 33 at different RAT sites.
According to DSO Kakching, the cumulative number of infected people has reached 4226 out of which 3483 cases have been recovered and 84 have died.
The district has active caseload of 659 as of Sunday 2 pm.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (27,068), Imphal East (17,123), Thoubal (6532), Churachandpur (6347), Kangpokpi (1948), Tamenglong (2203), Bishnupur (5199), Senapati (1479), Ukhrul (1551), Kakching (4130), Chandel (1301), Noney (605), Tengnoupal (832), Jiribam (792), Kamjong (467) and Pherzawl (154) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (442), Imphal East (326), Thoubal (120), Churachandpur (104), Kangpokpi (35), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (102), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (74), Chandel (18), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (8), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 25,050 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,148 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,08,078 tests per million population against the national average of 3,09,130 TPM.
Case fatality rate reduced to 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 6320 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 14.41 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.13 per cent.
