Under the aegis of United Club of Bishnupur District (UCOBID), a discussion session on Covid-19 pandemic between members of Bishnupur District Covid-19 Task Force and All Bishnupur District Working Journalists' Union (ABDWJU) was held on Sunday.
As a part of the programme, UCOBID handed over medical kits including Arsenic Album 30, face mask, hand sanitizer, soap, paracetamol tablets and Zinc tablets, which were donated by Sewa International, to the scribes.
The programme was attended by UCOBID president and Bishnupur District Covid19 task force convenor Th Norendro, ABDWJU president Y Somananda, Task force chairman Dr IS Konthoujam and Kom Union secretary T Achung Kom as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Is Konthoujam pointed out that the government and different organisations have been working hard for ensuring success of mass Covid testing and vaccination drives.
Several relief items have been provided by the task force to vulnerable families who have been drastically affected by the pandemic, he added.
Highlighting the need for conducting economic survey and also study the reason for increasing positivity rate in the state, Dr IS Konthoujam said that the government needs to look after the needs of local volunteers more seriously than the paid volunteers.
If the government and the people work collectively then the pandemic could be contained easily, he added.
