Felicitation function of Congress MPs ends on sour note

A function at Congress Bhavan in Imphal ended in a sour note with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam becoming agitated when the convenor of block level Congress presidents of Manipur raked up the ails in Manipur Congress Bhavan.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister advised the convenor identified as Nandalal Angomcha not to repeat such act in future.
They also rued that today's function was held as if to tongue lash the Congress leaders.
Today's programme was organised by the presidents of all the Congress blocks in Manipur to felicitate the three Congress Members of Parliament (MPs) from Manipur namely Thangso Baite from Manipur Outer Lok Sabha seat, Dr Th Meinya from Manipur Inner Lok Sabha seat and the lone state Rajya Sabha member Md Abdul Salam.
While addressing the programme, convenor of the presidents of all Congress blocks of Manipur Nandalal Angomcha complaint that the Congress Bhavan do not possess facilities to accommodate them whenever they visit it.
Nandalal Angomcha pointed out that there are no separate rooms for them and even the library has not been put up in the Bhavan, though Congress members have been demanding it for long.
Nandalal further said the Manipur Congress Committee (MPCC) constitution booklets are also not available whenever they wanted to buy them.
Furthermore, he suggested to do away the term Outer Parliamentary seat and Inner saying, that the term 'Outer' has given the people to perceive it as outside Manipur and opined that they should be term as Parliamentary seat 1 and seat 2 .
Soon after Nandalal Angomcha completed his speech, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, lamented that in a function like this a Congress leader had to highlight his anguish before everyone including the media.
Gaikhangam said so many Congress leaders were attending the function but in the face of everyone the short comings of the party has been raked up.
He stated that this was not the occasion for such expression.
Chief Minister O Ibobi too expressed unhappiness that such a function was used for highlighting one's anguish.
Ibobi asserted that Congress Bhavan in Manipur is the best among all Congress Bhavans in whole North East.
Nonetheless, he hastened to add that the party is trying to develop the Congress Bhavan further but it would take time as that doing things practically is difficult than saying.
