Bandh threat

Thadou Students' Association, General Headquarters has threatened to call a 24-hour bandh on Imphal-Dimapur highway and Imphal-Churachandpur road with effect from 3 am of June 28 if the road accident involving 7th IRB Commandant Chaoba Lukho is not resolved by June 27 .
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, TSA GHqs Thangminlen Haokip strongly condemned Chaoba Lukho for not showing any sense to rush the injured victims to hospital after the Commandant's vehicle knocked down an Alto car (ML05F-2825) between Khonghampat and Koirengei on NH-2 at around 11.30 am on June 16 .
Six persons of social worker Lunkhojang alias Hejang's family hailing from K Salbung village in Churachandpur district were injured in the mishap.
The injured persons have been identified as Chinneineng Haokip (25), Ngamkhotinthang Haokip (19), Lhingneikim Haokip (17) Letjamang Haokip (23) Veineithem Haokip (21) and Albert Haokip (3) .
They were left unattended inside the car for around 40 minutes after the mishap, he added.
The injured persons were finally rushed to the hospital by TSA volunteers with the help of Pastor Nehthang Haokip, he added.
Although, the incident happened around 10 days back, neither Sekmai Police Station, where an FIR has been filed regarding the incident, have investigated the incident nor the Commandant visited the victims till date, he added.
