Highway bandh called in protest

In protest against the alleged callous attitude of 7th IRB and its Commanding Officer (CO) Chaba Lukho towards the accident victims, Thadou Students' Association-General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ) has announced to impose 24 hours bandh along Imphal-Dimapur Road (NH-2), Imphal-Moreh Road (also NH-2) and Imphal-Churachandpur Road (NH-150) from 3 am of June 28 .
According to TSA-GHQ, a car in which a family from K Salbung village of Sadar Hills was tavelling, was hit by the convoy of 7th IRB CO Chaba Lukho between Khonghampat and Koirengei in north Imphal outskirt on June 16.Six members of the family in the Alto car got injured.
They were evacuated to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) but due to the nurses' agitation the hospital was paralysed that day.
So, the injured family members were later brought to Raj Polyclinic, North AOC, Imphal for treatment.
Later, they are shifted to KCC Hospital, Dewlahlane, Imphal.
The TSA-GHQ alleged that during these 10 days, CO Chaba Lukho nor from the 7th IRB authority had come to see the victims.
Irked by the attitude of the CO and the 7th IRB authority, the TSA-GHQ has decided to impose the bandh.
"We appeal all the clubs, students' bodies and every individual to kindly extend their valuable co-operation and support regarding this matter to bring justice to the brutal act of security forces in the state.
We also request all associations and unions concerned of transports and vehicle owners to co-operate us," appeals the TSA-GHQ.
