State Medical Council will be set up in the state, said state health and family welfare minister, Ph Parijat today speaking as chief guest at the function organized by the Trained Nurses Association of India, Manipur Branch as a part of the "Internaitonal Nurses Week Celebration.
The function was also attended among others by medical superintendent of RIMS, prof.Y mohen, former senior librarian Dr Giridari and functional manager of state commerce and industries department S Birendra as president and guest of honours respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Parijat exploring the need for having a medical council for the state and various proposals are coming from doctors' side.
Cabinet has also discussed on the matter and a bill for the setting up of the council will be introduced in the coming session of the state Assembly.
He also talked at length on the role of the nurses in treating patients.
Considering the need of the nurses in the treatment of patients, there should be enough number of nurses and they are also required to impart training on the use of latest method of attending patients.
Speaking as guest of honour, Dr N Giridhari said nurses are always very closely related with the patients.
So they should try their best to get the latest method of serving patients.
On the occasion awardees of this year national Florence Nightingale award, TNAI Centenary Award, TNAI Binary Award, Best Students Nurse Award and nurses who got prizes at the State Level SNA Indoor Games 2009 .
