To pay homage and remember the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives defending the sovereignty of the country in the Anglo-Manipuri war of 1891, Royal Riders in association with Wild Life Animal Protection Association has launched a campaign planting trees at historical sites.
Members of Royal Riders and the Protection Association today planted 600 tree saplings at Langol Punshilok today, a site where the martyrs battled the invading British force.
The saplings included 200 fruit bearing trees including guava saplings.
The tree plantation campaign will also cover schools and colleges and poster campaign with the messages, 'Plant trees' 'Don't cut trees' and 'Know your trees' etc will be also be launched.
