A report of the Committee on Privileges and Ethics of the state Assembly tabled in the house today observed to obstruct and physically assault employees of the Assembly Secretariat while executing their duty in relation with the sitting of the House was a clear breach of the House and contempt of the House.
The report of the Committee was related with the assault of three employees of the Assembly Secretariat by a police constable on March 9 at Khoyathong area on their way back to their office after dispatching a letter to the Joint Secretary of MPSC in relation with the Budget session, 2011 .

The committee recommended that no further action be taken up against the said police personnel as the OC, on behalf of the constable had offered an apology and promised that such a contemptuous act is not committed in future.
