Blockade supporters of the SHDDC's demand for a full fledged district of Sadar Hills, in its protest have went to the extent of digging up of the NH 53 at Leingangtabi area.
Locals of that area told media persons, who went for a first hand report of the incident, that around 15 persons came and broke the culvert at leingangtabi.
Both enbs of the culvert have been totally destroyed and the road is also being dug up on both sides of the culvert.
All telephone cable wires were also being destroyed by the miscreants.
Today at around 11 in the morning the first 100 of the 362 trucks coming down from Jiribam to Imphal were blocked at Leingangthabi area for a while.

They were later made to move towards Imphal after the dug up roads were mended by the Manipur Police commandos.
They were assisted by a team of Transporters and Drivers Council.
Later around 362 goods laden trucks reach Imphal safely.
Among the goods laden vehicles, 299 were cement loaded, 24 petrol tankers,11 diesel tankers, 1 kerosene tanker, 12 LPG bullet, 5 passenger buses and 5 Tata Sumo etc.
Meanwhile volunteers of SHDDC burnt down Kalapahar police outpost on the intervening night of September 3-4 .
