UPF observes 24th foundation day

The 24th foundation day of United People's Front (UPF), Manipur was observed at Yaibilen Children Home located at Keibi Sanapat, Imphal East yesterday.
The event was graced by Nongthombam Rupachandra, president, UPF; L Geetchandra, Director of Sericulture; Dr Chanam Sonia, Head in-charge, Department of Adult Education and Continuing Extension; Ningthoukhongjam Sanatomba, Makeng Dollaithabi Zilla Paishad Member; Thangjam Inaocha, Pradhan, Uyumpok GP and social worker Yumnam Tomba as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongthombam Rupachandra said that CSOs must mobilize and spread awareness among people in far flung areas in order to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Merely shouting slogans in Imphal valley will not achieve any tangible results, he said.
He also highlighted the importance of conserving the common identity, culture and tradition of the community in order to bring progress.
As a part of the event, UPF also distributed essential items to the inmates of Yaibilen Children Home.
