Raising the pitch for demanding resignation of all the 60 MLAs in the State Legislative Assembly including the Chief Minister, many social organizations have categorically warned them to relinquish their respective posts without further ado and awaiting for the wrath of the people.
In a statement, All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj, Imphal West Branch demanded that all the MLAs and Ministers should resign from their respective posts forthwith if they could not fulfill the demand of the people who have elected them.
The MLAs and the Ministers should never forget that the voice of the people are like that of God and without awaiting for wrath of the people they should relinquish their posts, Branch secretary Ch Sundari Devi said.
In a strongly worded statement, Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai Nupi Marup denounced all the politicians of the State as enemies of the people and they should not allow to hold the rein of power as their action have gone against the wishes of the people.
Serving an ultimatum to all the family members of the Ministers and the MLAs, the women's body further said that they would be boycotted socially by the people of Manipur if they continue to remain aloft from the ongoing mass movement.
In another vitriolic statement, Mongshangei Makha Leikai Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup said that since the MLAs and Ministers in the State have become like puppets at the hands of the Centre and could not act according to the wishes of the people who elevated them to their present position, all of them should be exiled to Delhi to be with their bosses there for life.
Joining the tirade against the MLAs and Ministers, Heirangoithong West Yangam Leirak Nupi Assn said that people should not listen any more to the false promises given by them.
The Social Reformation and Development Club, Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai, Oinam Sawombung Youth Development Club, Oinam Sawombung; Oinam Sawombung Apunba Meira Paibee Nupi Lup among others have also exerted pressure on the MLAs and the Ministers to resign from their posts immediately.
These organizations also extended their support to the boycott agitation of goods produced beyond North Eastern region.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting of local clubs, organizations and meira paibis of Sagolmang Khewa Company, Yumnam Patlou and Wakhong held at the Sagolmang office of Progressive Youth Club today rejected lifting of Disturbed Area Status under Section III of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Imphal Municipal area only and demanded withdrawal of the Act completely from Manipur.
The meeting also strongly condemned repressive measures being adopted by the State Government to quell the democratic movement of the people.
