A truck carrying about 15 people along with goods met with an accident at Songjang village near Thonglangin IT road yesterday killing three persons, according to reports.
The reports said that the truck bearing MN-05-3124 was heading for Tamei when it met with the accident at around 12 in the afternoon killing one person on the spot and two died after they were shifted to a hospital.
The reports also said that 11 persons are in critical conditions at an Imphal hospital.
The three deceased have been identified as one Tariliang Newmai and Chamaisetbou Pamei of Langmei village and one Dipoibou of Takou village, both under Tamei sub-division.
Tariliang and Chamai-setbou were the ex-chairmen of Langmei village while Dipoibou was a Govt teacher in Langmei High School.
The truck belongs to one Wijanbou of Tamei.
Due to bad road buses had stopped plying along the IT road and that people with emergency cases have been using trucks as the sole means of transportation.
No minister including the concerned representatives of the areas had not visited the road after the numerous landslides occurred along the IT road in recent times.
Mention may be made that Tamei had been cut off from the rest of the state due to landslides occurring in all directions.
Paddy fields had also been damaged to the limit in the Tamei areas in recent calamities but its local MLA Z Mangaibou has not visited as yet in the area till date.
Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has today submitted a memorandum to CM demanding for immediate payment ex gratia to the family members of the deceased persons and relief measures to the injured persons.
