Relay hunger strike

Imphal, July 17 2016:
Demanding revocation of the order which declared former JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan as a wanted man and enforcement of ILPS or a similar mechanism in the State, a relay hunger strike has been launched since this morning at Singjamei Bridge.
Three women started the relay hunger strike at 7 am under the aegis of the JAC Against the Wanted Tag to JCILPS Leader Khomdram Ratan.
Khomdram (O) Momon (73), Soyam (O) Brajarani (62) and Khomdram (O) Dimarani (35) launched the hunger strike and continued the agitation till 5 pm before they were taken over by Thongam Dara (45), Kh Thoiba (40) and NK Naresh (33) .
It is said that the relay hunger strike would go on until the JAC's demands are fulfilled or a solution is achieved.
Notably, the State Government declared Kh Ratan as a wanted man apart from announcing a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to any one who can provide information leading to his arrest.
