A public meeting on pre-merger political status (of Manipur) was held today at Koirengei Urang Leikai Primary School.
The programme was organised the Information Centre of Kangleipak (ICK) under the aegis of the Coalition for Indigenes Right Campaign (CIRCA).

All these socio-political and economic issues and problems can be resolved only when the pre-merger status of Manipur is restored.
Restoration of Manipur's pre-merger political status would make identification of outsiders easier, Oken said.

CIRCA convenor Somorendro Thokchom reminded Manipur was once an independent kingdom.
Somorendra asserted that Manipur was peaceful when it was independent and added that pre-merger status is necessary to let peace reign.
ICK vice-president Ngangbam Inaocha Meetei Inat Shindam Shanglen teacher Ningthoujam Ibohal and ICK executive member Indrajit Mangang too spoke at the meeting.
