Imphal, August 08 2019:
While demanding unconditional release of all the people arrested in the course of the ongoing agitation for delivering justice in the controversial death of Ningthoujam Babysana Chanu by 10 am of August 9, the JAC Against the Murder of Ningthoujam Babysana Chanu has asserted that 10 volunteers including JAC convenor Thingnam Chitaranjan and Thangmeiband United Club (TUC) general secretary Heishnam Phoren would court mass arrest.
The JAC has condemned in the strongest term the arrest as well as endeavours to arrest members of the JAC and the TUC by police.
Demanding unconditional release of all the arrested protesters, the JAC has asked the State Police to stop hunting their volunteers as well as the TUC's.If the arrested protesters are not released immediately, it would be assumed that police are inviting more intense modes of agitation and for any untoward incident resulting thereof, the State Government would be held accountable, said a press release issued by the JAC.
