Imphal, July 08 2015 :
Congress MLA Y Erabot reacted in a high-pitched tone in the State Assembly when Forest and Environment Minister Thoudam Debendra told the House that he does not have any information regarding diversion of 0.956 hectare of Langol reserved forest area to Lamlongei Mantripukhri.
Erabot took up the matter for the half-hour discussion in the State Assembly.
Taking part in the discussion, Th Debendra said that allotment of 0.956 hactare of land for the construction of TB and Leprosy hospital was done under general approval.
However, he does not have any information regarding the work agency and estimated cost of construction of pucca buildings at the area.
Sharply reacting to the Minister's response in high-pitched tone, Y Erabot said that he does not want to raise further questions on the issue if the Minister does not have any information about the matter.
He however told the House that many pucca buildings have been constructed at the site.
Saying that fencing have been erected and police are deployed to guard the area, the MLA questioned who takes up all these works where even the officials of Forest Department are not allowed to enter.
He said that he wants to know - the estimated cost of the construction, why police are deployed there, where the amount earned from earth quarrying at the site has gone.
He also alleged that MAHUD and a man from Mayang Imphal are involved in the construction works.
The MLA also said that the Minister had changed the motion into a joke by responding that he does not have any information about the project.
