Churachandpur Photo Exhibition, a source of inspiration

For Samuel, a XII grader of Lamka town, this was the first photo exhibition he has encountered so far in his life.
And he is not complaining either.
The photo exhibition gave him a chance to learn more about the pace of developmental projects undertaken in the north-east.
"I find the photos were excellent and thrilling", he brims as he walked out from the exhibition hall after minutely watching the 160-odd photographs.
Like Samuel, there are many visitors who were inspired by the numerous collection of photographs from the region.
The exhibition, which was set into motion on January 18 has drawn visitors from all walks of life.
In an attempt to disseminate information about the various centrally-sponsored development projects in the north-east, including Sikkim, the Field Exhibition Office, DAVP, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal organized a five-day long Photo Exhibition on the theme "Development Initiatives in the North East" at Synod Hall, Churahcnadpur, which comes to a close today.
Setting the tone of the exhibition, Langkhanpau Guite, Chairman, Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur says, "I am really impressed by the photos.
I wish this kind of developmental works may fully initiated in my district too".
Welcoming the exhibition, Daniel K Thangboi, Head Teacher of Royal Academy, Ccpur says "It is notable to see through so many alluring and beautiful photos from various parts of the north-east in our own town.
For S William, a visitor, the exhibition gives him lots of knowledge about North Eastern States of India.
Mawite, a Class IX grader remarks, "It give imaging to my life and I feel it so beautiful".
Captivated by the photos, Lunkhomang Khongsai, MPS, SDPO/Ccpur says, "The exhibition disclosed the hidden gems of the north-eastern states and the great effort made by DAVP in capturing in a very professional manner".
For Khup Manlun, a visitor from Zenhang Lamka, the photo exhibition was an inspiration.
"Its wonderful and I'm inspire by the photo exhibition".
Sonmalsawm Neihsial, a Master's degree student of NEHU says, "The exhibition is great and wonderful.
It made me aware of the wonderful works and development done in each states, districts within its states.
I would expect more of development works to be carried on for the welfare of the people and the state".
Explains Gin Gangte, IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal : "Of all forms of communications, visual communication has a lasting effect in the minds of the public.
Ergo, this photo exhibition is a strong force for dissemination of information".
The photo exhibition is a regular activity of DAVP.
In this context, the Field Exhibition Office, Imphal is organizing photo exhibition round the year on different subjects such as Voters Awareness, Bharat Nirman, MGNREGS, NRHM, SSA, etc.
Another exhibition is line-up for next month in Imphal West.
The photo exhibition may comes to a close on January 22, 2011, however, the visuals that were displayed during the exhibition will definitely be a source of inspiration for some, and knowledge for others.
