MPP react against Electricity Dept's decision

While applauding the decision of the state Electricity Department to conduct drive throughout the state and take up necessary actions against the defaulters, the Manipur People's Party said that the decision of the department is not justified.
In a press release, MPP stated that PHED, MAHUD, IFCD, PDA, Medical Department, Electricity Department, Revenue Department, Manipur Police Department, GAD, Arts and Culture, Minor Irrigation and Printing and Stationery do not pay its 22 crore due bills.
Apart from these, there may be many other departments who do not clear their bills.
Moreover the Ministers, MLAs and higher officials of the state government might have also large unclear bills.
The department should give prior notice to the public and give them to clear their unclear bills.
They should also informed the due bills of the public with the notification.
Citing the action of the department as taken in haste after the PIL filed by three public, MPP urged the department to clear its own due bill and collect due bills of other government department and officials including MLAs, Ministers before they conduct drive against the public.
It further added that the proposed drive of the department will affect the study of the students when they are preparing for upcoming board and council examinations.
