The investigation into the root cause of the problem by a team constituted at the National level has come up with the revelation that it is mainly due to hoarding of goods in the godowns by the Govt, she said, adding that UPA Government has not been able to ensure availability of the goods being hoarded in the godowns to the people in time and thus is failing in implementation of its programmes and policies on distribution of goods to the people.
She further asserted that Public Distribution System in BJP-ruled States like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are being functioned properly along with providing one kilogram of rice to AAY card holder families at Rs 3. The benefits to card holders of BPL, APL, etc are also be provided.
But contrary to this, the Congress led SPF Government in Manipur has not been able to extend such benefits to the card holders of AAY, BPL, APL, etc.
The president in-charge of BJP Mahila Morcha Manipur Keisham Mema observed that price of essential commodities in Manipur is being controlled by businessmen and not by the Government.
