Abductors of Dr Laksana in cop net

Imphal, December 05 2012:
Two persons including a personnel of Army Service Corps and a Navigating Officer of Royal Auxiliary Service, Iraq, who were involved in kidnapping Dr RK Laksana, State TB Officer and his driver for ransom demand of Rs 20 lakh posing as KCP cadres, have been arrested by Police Commandos.
According to police report, in an extensive search operation conducted at Thangmeiband, Chingmeirong and Mantripukhri areas on December 3, a combined team of Imphal East and West Police Commandos arrested the duo involved in the kidnapping of Dr RK Laksana Singh and his driver along with department vehicle (Gypsy) bearing registration number MN-01X 0250 from a place near Eastern Motor Showroom at Chingmeirong at around 4.30 pm of the same day.
The arrested persons have been identified as Khwairakpam Robin Singh (30), s/o Kh Sanajaoba Singh of Sekmai Makha Leikai, who is serving at Royal Auxiliary Service, Iraq as Navigation Officer and Khwairakpam Nandakishore alias Amujao (32), s/o Kh Ratan Singh of Nongthonbal who is serving at Army Service Corps (Army number 6501103Y) and posted in Bangalore.
A sum of Rs 1 lakh which they had extorted from the family of Dr RK Laksana, one passport, three SBI ATM cards, two ID cards, two PAN cards and two Driving licenses were recovered from them.
On further interrogation, it was revealed that the two are on leave in Imphal and were planning to leave the city after committing the crime by posing themselves as cadres of KCP, according to a statement issued by SP of Imphal West district police.
