Imphal, February 05 2014:
'Manipur Through Ph Santosh's Lens', a five-day photo exhibition, which showcased 1110 classic photographs of renowned photo journalist Ph Santosh came to an end at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
The exhibition witnessed rare photographs of flood of Khwairamband Bazar in 1980, Thangjing plane crash, Naga-Kuki conflict, Great June uprising and cultural and sporting activities of Manipur.
Santosh is not only the first photographer of different international agencies but also contributing photos to various National and international publications from 1980 .
Former Minister and Manipur Olympic Association president Bijoy Koijam and Editors' Guild Manipur president A Mobi graced the closing function of the exhibition as chief guest and president respectively.
Addressing the function, Bijoy Koijam spoke on the contributions of photographers in journalism.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to support their children if they choose the exciting career of journalism.
A Mobi while speaking at the function mentioned the importance of photos in newspapers and magazines.
