JNV test ban lifted

Consequent to an understanding arrived at between authorities of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Meetei Eyek Erol Loinasillon (Meelal) the latter has lifted the ban imposed against entrance test of class VI standard in JNV institutions in the State.
The ban on the JNV entrance test, scheduled for February 8, is said to have been imposed as JNV authorities were not committed to include Meetei Mayek inscriptions in the question papers for the said entrance test.
According to Meelal president Sadokpam Tomba, a meeting of JNV Principals, Zonal Education Officers and Meelal representatives was held today wherein Shillong-based JNV Deputy Commissioner PR Verma assured to include the indigenous script in entrance test from the next academic session.
Conveying the Deputy Commissioner's message at a media briefing held today at Meelal head office, Tomba announcing that students appearing for the test may collect their respective admit cards also urged all concerned not to impose/enforce any form of bandh or general strike on February 8 .
