AMHPWA celebrates B' day

Laishram Ningol Esheihanbi Devi was today conferred the Mayanglambam Aber Memorial Award 2015 during the 6th foundation day celebration of the All Manipur Handicapped Persons' Welfare Association (AMHPWA) held at Manipur Press Club.
A short story book titled Yeningthagi Yening written by Mayanglambam Sumati Devi, secretary of the association was also released.
The function was attended by MLA Dr I Ibohalbi as the chief Guest while vice-president of AMHPWA N Kesho was the functional president.
Additional Chief Engineer, CADA, L Manoranjan, Padmashree L Nabakishor, Deputy Director, Social welfare Th Joychand and president AMWJU W Shamjai were the guests of honour.
AMHPWA was established in 2009.It has provided skill development training to differently abled persons in collaboration with department concerned.
The association conducted a three-month free computer training for its members.
The members also donated blood on the World Blood Donation day every year since its establishment.
Speaking at the occasion, chief guest Dr I Ibohalbi said that differently abled persons have more courage, determination and will power than the normal people have.
He urged all concerned to break the barrier and stop discrimination.
The MLA further stressed the need to take up more welfare oriented schemes for differently abled persons by the Govt.Laishram Ningol Esheihanbi Devi, a differently abled woman was awarded with the Mayanglambam Aber Ningshing Mana in recognition of her works and courage.
The embroidery works of Esheihanbi were also put on display during the function.
Certificates were distributed to participants of the three months computer training on the occasion.
