'Candidate bribed'
A Congress candidate for the upcoming Andro Nagar Panchayat election has allegedly been bribed and threatened from contesting the election.
Salam Gambhir, intending congress candidate for Andro Ward no 7, said that he had heard reports about the incumbent councillor conspiring to offer him a few lakh rupees in order to persuade him not to contest the Nagar panchayat election.
Woman vendor injured
A woman vendor identified as Ningthoujam Bilashini (65) of Singjamei Okram Leikai was injured after the weak railing of a dilapidated shop located at Singjamei bazar fell on top of her today.
She received serious head injuries and has been admitted at JNIMS.
REFORM appeals
Research Forum, Manipur (REFORM) has appealed to all the groups calling a bandh on Nov 21 to allow them to celebrate their foundation day at Manipur Press Club on the said day as they have been celebrating it annually.
National Integration Week 2015
Observance of Quami Ekta (National Integration Week) 2015 has kicked off at the Counting Hall, DC office, Thoubal.
The inaugural programme was attended by 60 youth leaders and 50 District Level Officers.
Speaking at the function, Thoubal DC T Ranjit said that the observance will imbibe the spirit of communal harmony, peace and National integration among the people.
