Chandel, November 19 2015:
Chandel's Naga civil society organisations have expressed dismay with the ongoing tardy and slow pace of road repairing work along the 18 km road stretch in District Headquarters from Pallel.
The bodies have now urged the responsible authority to complete the work at the earliest.
The organisations informed that the repairing work began early this year but only a few kilometers from Pallel, Komlathabi (Kapaam) and District headquarters areas have been black topped and the other portions of the road have been left untouched after the stone chips were laid.

Villagers have also complained that commuters along the road have to endure hardship and it takes almost an hour to reach the district headquarter from Pallel after a bumping ride through numerous potholes and clouds of dust.
There are also reports of frequent traffic accidents along the road due to the deplorable road condition, added another villager.
Speaking to the media persons, Ws Kanral Anal, President of Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) said that the slow repairing work of the road has been closely monitored by a development and monitoring cell of the organisation.
On behalf of the people of Chandel, the President also urged the contractors to expedite the repairing work and complete the road at the earliest.
Lh Bliss Anal, President of Naga Women Union Chandel (NWUC) and SR Joyningam, President of Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) also expressed dismay with the current state of the work.
Appealing the authorities to maintain quality and complete the work in time, the Presidents of the two unions also warned that they will take up necessary measures if the authorities fail to address their grievances.
It may be mentioned that people of Chandel had held various forms of agitation demanding the repair of the road stretch.
The road was also once repaired by the general public, organisations and like-minded public leaders on their own capacities.
