Tribal cultural festival concludes

The 4th State Level Tribal Cultural Festival concluded today at Tribal Research Institute(TRI) Chingmeirong, Imphal.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam gracing the function as chief guest stated that to meet the challenges of today, all must remember the past and preserve their cultural and traditional values.
He also stated that organising cultural festivals participated by different ethnic communities of the State would help the cause of enriching the cultural heritage of the people and in upholding emotional integrity.
The two-day festival was held under the theme "Tribal Culture for National Integration" under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India and co-sponsored by Tribal Research Institure, Govt of Manipur.
The main events of the festival were tribal traditional shows, traditional cultural dances, traditional folk songs, tribal musical symphony/syncronization, tribal feat shows and tribal parades.
The closing function was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary(TA & Hills & IT) Victor Keishing and Chief Secretary O Nabakishore Singh as functional president and guest of honour respectively.
