Aimol Numeiwar opposes erection of monolith

Aimol Numeiwar (Women Human Rights) Manipur has strongly opposed the erection of monolith at Aimol Satu Village in Chandel District by one S Munthuireng Aimol, former President Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM) and his group members on the symbolic for joining the Aimol Tribe to Naga at Aimol Satu Village on November 20 .
In a joint statement, Aimol Numeiwar President S Chongneiring and General Secretary Ln Tangnu said that it is a serious issue as Aimol Tribe does not belong to the Naga community.
They alleged that the action was a "treacherous act and was against the Aimol people" .
The Numeiwar appealed the Government of Manipur and civil society organisation leaders to fight against the "outrageous character and social evil activities conducted by any cohort or underground group in the society" .
The Aimol Numeiwar and Aimol people will not accept such enormous betrayal work to the Aimol tribe and warned that S Munthuireng and its group should take responsible if any untoward incident occurred to the Aimol community in the future, the statement added.
