Book on Sadar Hills Movement released

"Sadar Hills Movement"- a diary of the struggle for Sadar Hills in Manipur written by former student leader and social activist, Tonghen Kipgen has been released by Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman SHADC-Kpi at Sadar Hills District Council Complex here today.
Published by Spectrum Publications Guwahati, the book, most importantly to keep alive the movement of Sadar Hills has been dedicated in the name of the Almighty Lord Jesus Christ by Rev J.Lunkim, Sr Pastor KCC after it has been released
by the Chairman.

A part from the Chairman SHADC-Kpi who attended the function as chief guest, Lamkholen Kipgen, EM-SHADC, Seisat Kipgen, EM-SHADC, Lhingkhonei Lotzem, Addl CEO, SHADC-Kpi, Vomboi Hangshing, Retd IAS, former Secretary Govt of Nagaland, members of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman KTC and his members, and staffs of SHADC-Kpi also attended the releasing ceremony.
Speaking at the function Tonghen Kipgen, Author of Sadar Hills Movement stated that the book is in the form of diary, brief and concise which creates interest as well as provides space and the opportunity for further deeper study and critical analysis by research scholar and all concerned.
Prof Lal Dena, Dept of History, MU said in his Foreword that the Sadar Movement for full-fledged district under the leadership of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee has its historical roots even in the Manipur Administration during the colonial days while adding that the book written by Tonghen Kipgen is a mine of information and it is a must-read book not only for general reader but also for policy makers and planners.
Tonghen Kipgen, born July 19, 1973, was the President of Kuki Students' Organisation GHQ during 2005-06; Speaker of All Tribal Students' Union Manipur during 2009-10; General Secretary of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee during Public Movement or 123 Days Agitation during 2011; Founding Presiding of Sadar Hills Badminton Association; District Youth Awardee 1994 and also the Editor of Journal 1997 of the KSO-SH, Manipur.
