SKLC ready for the grandest Kut fest ever

The stage has been set for celebrating Chin-Kuki-Mizo Kut, 2013 on 1st November at the 1st MR Parade Ground here in an even more grand manner than unlike previous years, according to an official statement issued by C.Mang Kipgen, Spokesperson of State Level Kut Committee (SKLC), 2013 .
Vakkom B Purushothaman, Governor of Mizoram will grace the Cultural Session starting 11 am onwards as chief guest while Dr Ashwani Kumar, Governor of Manipur as chief host.
Okram Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur will grace the evening session as chief guest.
The day session will showcase the rich cultural heritage, dances including indigenous traditions of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo family.
The winner, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up of the cultural dance competition will be awarded cash prize of Rs.15,000, Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 respectively by the Kut Committee.
The evening session starting 5pm onwards will have Miss Kut, 2013 competition.
Miss Kut competition has been going on since 1979 .
This year Miss Kut Contestants will compete in the traditional, western and question and answer round to edge closer and win the coveted crown.
The screening of the contestants concluded on October 13 at 1st MR Banquet Hall.
Altogether 63 contestants belonging to different sections of the society participated in the screening.
Among them, 20 contestants have been finally selected for the Miss Kut event.
The statement further has SKLC, 2013 has agreed to fix cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 for Miss Kut winner, Rs.75,000 for the 1st Runner up and Rs.50,000 for the 2nd Runner up.
SKLC shall also invite all the former State Level Miss Kut winners and honour them on stage this year on the day of Kut.
Kut, 2012 witnessed a crowd of more than 42,000 across all section of society in the same venue.
In order to ensure law and order during the state event, security arrangements and strict coordination among the agencies handling the event is being given prime importance.
Doctors, Fire safety measures will be stationed during the celebration.
Drinking water, Washrooms, Canteens and Stalls are proposed to be installed for the Kutters.
To ensure online viewing to everyone around the world, SKLC has taken the assistance of BSNL to do the needful.
Kut website (www.statelevelkut.com) including social networking sites is proposed to be launched to stay updated with the event.
Kut Committee also chaired a meeting on 09/11/13 with the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) at Manipur Press Club for the coverage, broadcast and reporting of the state festival.
In a meeting of the SLKC held at 1st Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall in June, 2013, the committee elected Ginsuanhao (MLA/Singhat) as the new Chairman.
The post of chairman was earlier held successfully by Dr Chaltonlien Amo (Chairman/HAC) from 2009-12 .
Other members include Ngamthang Haokip (Minister/IFCD), T.N Haokip (MLA/Saikot), T.Manga Vaiphei (MLA/Henglep), Vungjagin Valte (MLA/Thanlon), Nemcha Kipgen (MLA/Kangpokpi), Yamthong Haokip (MLA/Saikul), P.Doungel (IPS) and W.L Hangshing (IAS), Principal Secy, are the Secretary and Treasurer of the committee.
The committee also comprises ADC Chairmen and members, IASs, IPSs and State Civil Officers besides doctors, entrepreneurs and specialists.
