Bishnupur mini-sect to become a reality soon

Claiming that construction of Bishnupur mini-secretariat is nearing completion, Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar has stated that the Government is planning to inaugurate the building during November.
The Minister accompanied by high ranking officials of the department today conducted a spot inspection of the ongoing work.
Later speaking to media persons, he said that work order for construction of the mini-secretariat was issued in two batches, first in 2007 and second in 2011 even though the construction work was sanctioned in 2006 .
Of the four District Level Office buildings which constitute key components of the mini-secretariat complex, one DLO building has been fully constructed while the remaining three buildings have been completed by 90 per cent, Dr Ratankumar said.
Out of the four blocks of double room, two have been completed while the other two have been completed by 95 per cent.
Apart from finishing construction of two security barracks, DC bungalow and the multipurpose hall have been completed by
80 per cent.
Saying that completion of the incomplete components including internal road would require additional Rs five crore, the Works Minister informed that he is working to secure sanction of the said amount from the Chief Minister.
Mini-secretariats of Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Senapati, and ADC offices of Moreh and Jiribam have been already completed and commissioned.
Chandel mini-secretariat is also nearing completion, Dr Ratankumar added.
Talking about the increasing congestion of vehicles in Imphal city, Dr Ratankumar who is also in charge of Transport Department recalled that concerned MLAs were earlier consulted for construction of a ring road around Imphal city.
Meanwhile, Asian Development Bank has given its assurance to provide necessary fund required for construction of the proposed ring road.
The State Government is also considering to construct some by-pass roads in order to reduce traffic congestion within Imphal city.
Moreover, the Government has been mulling not to allow Imphal Municipal Council shift parking lots frequently without approval of the Parking Unified Transport Authority.
In addition, the Government is planning to frame a transport policy in order to check the abnormal growth in the number of light vehicles, Ratankumar told media persons.
