Bolero torched at Patsoi

A Bolero Jeep parked in the owner's garage at Patsoi Part-I has been set ablaze by unknown person(s) on the intervening night of January 16-17.According to the owner namely Mutum Megharaj (43) s/o (L) M Ningthemjao the Bolero Jeep (MN01-W2/2363) was found engulfed in flame as he rushed out of home on hearing security alarm beeping.
Confiding that he neither received any monetary demand or threat from any banned organisation nor had personal enmity with anyone, Megharaj nevertheless disclosed that about 4-5 days back some unknown persons handed over a mobile phone number (8119840911) to his mother telling her that Megharaj should establish contact without further delay.
The unknown persons also reportedly stated that 'our senior' is seriously upset with Megharaj.
Megharaj, who said is a contractor, did not make any call to the said number.
Protesting the act of arson, Youth Welfare club, Patsoi-I, local meira paibis and Nongdom Lairembi Development Association jointly organised a sit-in demonstration wherein demands were raised for a clarification from those involved in burning the vehicle.
