MSPP resolves to launch stir

Manipur State Panchayat Parishad (MSPP) has resolved to take up vigorous democratic agitations in many ways after Chief MinisterO.
Ibobi Singh allegedly failed to keep his promise of fulfilling certain demands related to implementation of various developmental activities for the rural masses.
"The silence of the government has compelled the Parishad to organize sit in protest on January 23 in four valley district headquarters of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal", said T.Itobi, president MSPP in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
He also said that the noble purpose of national initiative of the Parishad being inclusive growth, empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions is a must to bring perceptible development in a poor state like Manipur.
The Parishad in its pursuit of various demands, submitted a memorandum to the chief minister on December 11, 2013 and the chief minister himself had given verbal assurance to meet the demands within 15 days.
But as there was no sign of any fulfilment of the demands, the Parishad submitted a reminded on January 10.Unfortunately, the chief minister has not given any response.
