Cleanliness / tree plantation campaign held at Irengband

Lions Club of Imphal City in association with ADAM Kakching, VWSC Irengband and Sunday Eco Club Irengband under the supervision of District Chairperson Pollution Control River Bank on Saturday organised a cleanliness cum tree plantation campaign at Irengband, Kakching district.
Speaking to media persons, Lions Club International District 322D, Pollution Control & River Bank district chairperson and retired Chief Conservator of Forest, Mahendra Pratap stressed on the importance of keeping the river clean and urged the people to not throw waste material into the river.
He mentioned that the campaign was conducted with the aim to preserve Irum river and spread awareness on the benefits of keeping the river clean to the public.

Lions Club of Imphal City president, Ksh Ibotombi informed that the campaign was organised by Lions Club Kakching in collaboration with local clubs to protect the environment.
Expressing his gratitude to the public for their cooperation and support, Ksh Ibotombi also appealed to the public to provide their assistance in keeping the plant saplings alive.
The campaign was participated by District Governor District 322D, Dr Rima Sarma Baruah; ADAM Kakching secretary, Ksh Surjit; Lions Club Kakching members, Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Naorem Munal Meitei and Image TV Kakching editor, Naorem Utamkumar among others.
