Three arrested with heroin, opium

Imphal, May 07 2022:
Kakching police arrested one man along with five soap cases of powder suspected to be heroin from Wangjing YK College Gate at around 2 pm, today.
According to police, the arrested person has been identified as Md Anish (20) and he is a resident of Sora Makha Leikai.
Anish has been handed over to Thoubal police station.
Meanwhile, a team of Churachandpur police arrested an individual along with 1 kilogram of opium from Thingkangphai at around 5.30 pm, yesterday.
The person has been identified as Paoneh Khong-sai (42), s/o Paohao of L Cilon village, Chura-chandpur district.
According to credible sources, the police team led by SI B Sairemthang carried out a random checking and frisking drive at Thing-kangphai on receiving inputs about transportation of drugs in the area.

Saying that Paoneh came on a Honda Activa and he was detained for verification, the sources said that the police found the opium and Rs 50,000 inside the toolbox of the scooter.
A case has been registered at Churachandpur police station .
On the other hand, a team of Narcotic Cell Imphal East arrested one 22 years old man along with two plastic vials containing 5 gram of heroin from Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai yesterday at around 4.30 pm.
The arrested person has been identified as Phurai-latpam Ritic Sharma, son of Ph Ranjit Sharma of Heirangoithong Makha Maibam Leikai.
Sources informed that the team carried out a frisking and checking drive at Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai on receiving inputs about the presence of drugs dealers there.
During the drive, one car (Maruti Alto) was stopped by the police team for verification and two vials of heroin weighing 5 gram was seized from the driver who identified himself as Ph Ritic Sharma, it added.
Saying that Ritic was arrested on spot and the heroin powder was seized by observing necessary formalities, the sources main- tained that the car driven by Ritic might also have been tempered.
The arrested person has been handed over to Irilbung police station along with the seized drug and the car.
