Chinlunthang inspects water sources at Singngat

A team of PHED Churachandpur Division led by Singngat AC MLA, Chinlunthang on Friday inspected sites for constructions of a permanent and reliable water supply from Tuitha( Khuga) river near Teikot village in Singngat, Churachandpur district.
It may be mentioned that Singngat has been plagued with acute & internecine water problems and successive attempts made by leaders of the constituency have failed to produce visible results mostly due to its geographical location and lack of viable and practicable policy.
The MLA was accompanied by the Public Health Engineering Department, Churachandpur PHE-Division, John Thanglienmang, EE; L Paulungmuan, AE; Haukhansiam, SO; Lalringdik, SO and CSO leaders of Singngat.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinlunthang expressed his grief over the problems faced by the people of Singngat due to shortage of water.
He assured that all possible efforts have been taken in collaboration with PHED and depending on the availability of funds, construction shall be initiated soon.
John Thanglienmamg stated that in-depth study will be carried out in consultation with experts to determine the possibility of constructing the water supply.
"The Tuitha river near Teikot is about 5 km from Singngat and if the plan succeeds, direct benefits would be received by residents of Singngat and its surrounding areas like Muvanlai, Tangpijol, Lhancha, Belpuan, Sumchin and Muallum among others", he added.
Later, the MLA also inspected the ongoing construction of Singngat residential school and instructed the officials concerned to speed up the work and ensure its early completion.
