Water supply scheme dedicated; saplings planted

Imphal, May 07 2022:
Sehlon Battalion of IGAR (S) constructed and handed over a water supply scheme to Aibol Joupi village in Chandel district on Friday as part of Assam Rifles' Civic Action Project.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the water supply scheme was constructed in the border village to mitigate the problems faced by villagers due to scarcity of potable drinking water.
In another release, the PRO said that Loktak Battalion carried out tree plantation drives at Komlakhong and Kumbi villages in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts respectively on Saturday to spread awareness and encourage villagers about growing environmental concerns and ways to prevent it by tree plantation.
Assam Rifles planted 80 new saplings.
It was also aimed at educating local populace about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, the PRO added.
