Imphal, July 05 2012:
All Manipur Students Guardians' Association has condemned alleged silence of the State Government with regard to the raging controversy resulting from the repeated modification of the merit list for this year's MBBS/BDS entrance test conducted by the Medical Directorate.
Speaking to media persons at the Palace Gate office this afternoon, advisor of the asso- ciation N Tomba alleged that relevant authorities have been trying to wash their hands off the issue by heaping all the blame on M/S Axon Automation Pvt Ltd.
The Government should constitute a high power committee to probe into the fiasco and all guilty officials should be penalised accordingly.
Pointing out that publication of merit list four times for a single test is something unprecedented, Tomba maintain- ed that choosing the merit list declared on June 23 as final and binding is unacceptable.
The Health Minister cannot remain silent in the face of such unwarranted goof-up.
He must take a pro-active role in resolving the issue otherwise he must resign from his post, Tomba demanded.
Notably, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has already stated on the floor of the House that there is no need for conducting any enquiry into the goof-up.
